Exclusive Single Cask Rye Whisky
ActionsMid Island Liquor is proud to partner with Stillhead Distillery to launch an exclusive single cask rye whisky!
Since 2017, Stillhead Distillery has been dedicated to the art of whisky and set out to change public perception of what rye whisky could be. Not your grandpa’s mixer, not a spicier version of bourbon, but rather a smooth, fruity, complex whisky.
Every detail along the way, from the expertly aged wood barrels to the perfectly toasted char, has been carefully curated to produce the best possible experience in your glass. Crafted with Stillhead’s expertise, this is a whisky that hits a sweet spot between traditional Canadian Whisky style and American rye whiskies, bottled at 50% alc./vol.
This cask was made with detailed specifications, with the goal of producing a rye whisky that was balanced with orchard fruits, herbal notes and light spice. Made from a 100% rye mashbill, the spirit was aged in new charred American oak casks. Depending on where the wood was harvested and where the cask was aged in the warehouse, the subtle differences create exciting complexities between different casks.
Cask #146 has always been a favorite cask in the warehouse and we are so honored to collaborate with Stillhead to share this spirit with the public. This artfully crafted whisky would make a wonderful gift or the perfect addition to your private collection. Visit any Mid Island Liquor location to claim your bottle before it’s too late.
Tasting Notes:
On the nose – very rounded, coffee, maple syrup, Scotch Ale, mochaccino scotch with nutmeg, walnut whip, caraway seed.
On the palate – caraway, fennel tops, boilermakers, fresh orange juice, juniper
We had a blast teaming up with the crew at Stillhead Distillery to put the finishing touches on all 285 bottles and get them ready for local whisky lovers.
